Springerle Mold Photo Guidelines
If you provide photos as described below, only one photo is necessary per mold

If multiple molds are shown in the same photo, only one measurement is needed

How to create a make-shift photo station,
if you don't have a scanner
(so that your camera is parallel to the mold)
1. Place phone on the edge of a coffee table (or similar), with camera lens hanging off the edge of the table
2. Use a box or other square item to bring photo surface closer to the camera (don't use digital zoom)
3. Use another mold of similar thickness to prop up a ruler at the edge of the mold of interest - don't cover the mold design with the ruler
4. Use a lamp to adjust the lighting on the mold, if necessary
5. Take the photo

This method will help ensure that your photos are square to the molds so that scaling comes out correctly when I do my designing!
If you don't have a scanner, and don't want to use a table to keep your camera in check...
1) Put lined paper under the mold (pretend the paper plate is a mold). It can be notebook paper, wrapping paper, graph paper, scrapbook paper, or whatever you have. It just needs to have parallel lines in at least one direction.
2) If the paper only has lines in one direction, put the lines on the paper perpendicular to the ruler.
3) Make sure the ruler is propped up so that the top of the ruler is even with the top of the mold. Books work great for this.

If you do this, I should be able to adjust the photo for any skewness.
